The MLS Cup Final.
As you’ll see above, upset after upset has led to the unexpected match-up of FC Dallas vs. the Colorado Rapids. It’s not the flashy contest that New York vs. Los Angeles would have promised to be, but these two hard-working teams have scrapped their way tooth-and-nail into the Championship Game.
It is always a bit sad to close the final chapter on another Major League Soccer season, but as with past years, it is encouraging to know that the league is continuing to build momentum in the right direction.

The 2010 MLS Cup is on to the next round with the Colorado Rapids defeating the Columbus Crew, FC Dallas defeating Real Salt Lake, and the LA Galaxy defeating the Seattle Sounders.
This year’s tournament has been wrought with upsets. In fact, 3 of the 4 teams that have qualified for the semifinals defeated higher-seeded opponents. The LA Galaxy are the only #1 or #2 seed that chose to follow convention and best their inferior competitors.
This weekend’s 2nd leg matches were full of excitement with the Rapids winning on penalties… and with a somewhat controversial Beckham corner kick.

Off to a slower start, FC Dallas have only 2 points from 3 games… and have yet to kick-start their season. ESPN’s Thursday night kickoff looks a bit unpredictable… one team in better form… and the other at home.
