Portsmouth creditor deal… Rafa Benitez talks with Liverpool over his future… and Atletico Madrid prepare for Fulham in the Europa League final.
*** CRACKING HIGHLIGHTS BELOW ***

Europa League Semifinal – 2nd leg
Liverpool – Atletico Madrid
(1st Leg Score: 0-1 Atletico)
PREVIEW:
Liverpool looked sluggish last week in Madrid — missing Fernando Torres and having wallowed through a 24-hr+ bus ride from England to Spain. The Merseysiders are in trouble being down a goal AND not having picked up any away goals, but manager Rafa Benitez is hopeful that Steven Gerrard’s recent form will help his team prevail.
Atletico will surely be looking to play a defensive, counterattacking brand of soccer in today’s match. They’re set up well to do it with capable strikers Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero, who will chomping at the bits trying to score a breakaway goal. Madrid have proven to be majorly inconsistent this season. Which team will show up at Anfield? The world-beaters? Or the choke artists?
This all comes down to a spot in the Europa League Final in Hamburg on May 12th.

***CRACKING HIGHLIGHTS***

Europa League Semifinal – 2nd leg
Fulham – Hamburg
(Score: 0-0, after 1st leg)
PREVIEW
In European play last week, Fulham were the only traveling team to not walk away with an uphill battle. After an arduous bus ride from England to Germany, the Cottagers were able to pull out a nil-nil draw — which means they return home on even ground… but only a win will do in today’s match. A draw today will put the Germans through on the away goal rule.
After a loss on the weekend, Hamburg have sacked their coach. Thus, the team arrives to Craven Cottage lacking direction and leadership. Will this prove their downfall? Or will it create a rallying point? They would love nothing more than to play in the final, which is being hosted on their home ground.
This all comes down to a spot in the Europa League Final in Hamburg on May 12th.

Europa League results… Portsmouth update on Europa League… and an Adebayor warning.

Europa League Semifinal (first leg)
Atletico Madrid v. Liverpool
Despite Rafa’s frustrations with UEFA for not postponing the games… leading to a 24-hour bus ride… extended due to stand-still traffic for 3 hours on the highway… Liverpool showed up in Madrid after a solid win against West Ham on the weekend. The rested, non-traveling Madrilenos hope to capitalize on the road-weariness of the Merseysiders. Each team is capable of conquering any other in Europe, however, both have had massively inconsistent seasons. Which version of each side showed up?
